JÖRG FOCKELE - Project Director and Vice Chair

 

Jörg Fockele is an award-winning filmmaker, executive producer and television director/producer with a career spanning over 20 years. He has written and directed 10 plus short films, 4 feature documentaries and numerous music videos. In addition Jörg is a critically acclaimed television director of shows such as Bravo’s “Queer Eye”, ABC ’s “Wife Swap”, MTV’s “Savage U”, the Sundance Channel’s “Big Ideas for a Small Planet” and AMC’s current “Small Town Security”.

Of the awards and distinctions Jörg has received, the most important ones are retrospectives at the Goethe Institutes New York City, San Francisco, Chicago and Mexico City, 2 Emmys and a special prize from the International Film Festival in Berlin. Jörg is also Co-Founder of “The HIV Story Project”. As such and in close collaboration with his producing partner Marc Smolowitz, he has co-produced and -directed various PSAs, the award-winning short film compilation “Still Around” and the documentary “Keep the Promise – the Global Fight Against AIDS”.
